profine strengthens its position in the UK market with an acquisition

With effect from 20th May 2020, the profine Group acquired essential assets from the British Aperture Group, formerly Synseal.

The Aperture Group, which is based in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, is known for its renowned brands such as Legend, Synerjy, Evolve, Calibre Doors, Norvik New Build or WarmCore.

The United Kingdom has traditionally been one of profine’s core European markets. So far, the system provider had not yet established its own extrusion facility, but from this week, production will start under the new name profine UK Extrusions Ltd – with more than 20 extrusion lines, its own mixing plant and several foiling and injection molding systems. The expansion of the workforce is planned to include over 100 employees.

profine is continuing the activities of its successfully established Kömmerling brand in the UK, and individual products from the Aperture portfolio are also to be marketed in other countries.

On 7th February, 2020 KOEMMERLING was honoured with the prestigious “Asia’s Greatest Brands 2019-20” award in the uPVC doors & windows category and Mr. Farid Khan – Director & CEO, profine India Window Technology Pvt. Ltd. with “Asia’s Greatest Leaders 2019-20” award at the 13th Edition of Asian Business & Social Investor Forum 2019–20 & 4th Edition – Asia’s Greatest Brands & Leaders 2019–20 held at The Marriott Marquis Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand

profine at BAU 2019: Megatrends and convincing solutions

At BAU 2019, the profine Group, system provider of the KBE, Kömmerling and Trocal brands, was represented in Hall B4, Stand 528. The presentation focused on solutions to megatrends such as barrierfree access as well as on top issues such as sliding systems.

For example, with “PremiPlan Plus” profine presented a premium threshold system for maximum accessibility with a high level of comfort, when installed at ground level at zero millimeters. “PremiPlan Plus” is not just a threshold, but a complete system developed in cooperation with manufacturers of other building trades. Even before its official market launch, the innovative system was the winner of the pro-K award 2018 in the category of domestic installations and technology.

Sliding systems are also in line with the trend. Here, too, profine could present a remarkable product, in addition to the popular lift/sliding doors PremiDoor 76 and PremiDoor 88: PremiSlide 76 is a compact, efficient and versatile sliding system. The new product is based on the 76 mm double seal platform of the system provider and thus provides the manufacturer per se with a high degree of compatibility.

As an additional exhibition highlight, the profine project management presented an extensive range of services for architects, housing associations, contract placing authorities, and manufacturers. The range of consultancy services includes planning, bids for tenders, installation, and onsite approval procedures.

profine extends partnership with 1. FSV Mainz 05, the German football club

profine GmbH extends its partnership as the main and shirt sponsor of the German football club 1. FSV Mainz 05. For another season, the Kömmerling brand will appear on the shirts of the Bundesliga team and will be prominently represented in the stadium and marketing of the “Zerofivers”.

“Our cooperation with Mainz 05 has so far been extremely successful. This concerns both the increase in awareness of our Kömmerling brand and the positive response of our partners to this strategically important step towards consumer advertising”, says Dr. Peter Mrosik, owner and CEO of profine.

Since the Bundesliga season 2014/15 the PVC-U profile manufacturer is partner of 1. FSV Mainz 05, since the season 2015/16 main and shirt sponsor. After the coming season, profine will switch to the second sponsorship level as an exclusive partner for another three years. In total, the new contract will run for four years.

profine receives certificate of the pro-K initiative “Zero Pellet Loss” – pioneer in the prevention of marine litter

As the first company in the German profile industry, profine GmbH received the certificate of the pro-K initiative “Null Granulatverlust“ (Zero Pellet Loss) on May 23, 2018.

The initiative of the pro-K association, the German industrial association for PVC-U semi-finished and consumer products, is part of the global commitment of the plastics industry to “Operation Clean Sweep”.

These programs aim to minimize the loss of plastic pellets to the environment and are an industry contribution to combating the global marine litter problem from plastic and other waste.

“With its commitment, profine is playing a pioneering role and thus sets an example for responsibility in terms of sustainability and environmental protection,” said pro-K Managing Director Ralf Olsen in awarding the certificate in Pirmasens.

The system provider of the KBE, Kömmerling and Trocal profile brands has been actively involved in the self-commitment program since spring 2017.

At “Null Granulatverlust“, the participating companies must draw up a detailed plan of action to prevent the loss of granulate in their factory and start and monitor its implementation.

To this end, the association offers various materials, such as a checklist for the tour of typical critical points, a best practice collection or a supplier information letter.

Stefan Schäfer, member of the Management Board and Chief Product & Marketing Officer at profine, explains the motivations of the system supplier: “By participating in the initiative, we underline the sustainability philosophy of profine. By literally sweeping our doorsteps, we want to set a good example in the industry and show credibly that we care about protecting the environment. In a further step, we also want to motivate our customers to take part in the initiative.”

“Only a very small proportion of plastic waste in the seas is pellets. The majority are used items such as packaging waste or fishing nets which were carelessly released into the environment. The keyword, however, is avoidance. What is avoided does not migrate into the environment. This is where the zero pellet loss initiative comes in, “commented Ralf Olsen on the topic. “It is therefore important that the plastics processing industry also sets an example and does everything that is in its direct sphere of influence.”

2,425 years of business partnerships: profine paying tribute to 87 customer companies at Fensterbau Frontale

For the second time, Dr. Peter Mrosik took the opportunity of the Fensterbau Frontale trade fair for a big customer anniversary celebration. The owner and CEO of profine personally thanked 87 customer companies with a total of 2,425 years of partnership for their loyalty to the systems supplier.

“We really do appreciate the trust of our customers. In our fast moving times, long-term and loyal ties to a business partner are rather the exception than the rule”, Dr. Mrosik said during his speech on March 23, 2018 at the profine stand in Nuremberg.

Manufacturers from 10 to 50 years of partnership with one of the profine brands KBE, Kömmerling or Trocal were honored. The anniversary customers came from a total of 26 countries.

“Only our customers make us what we are,” Dr. Mrosik emphasized. “Your partnership with profine is a personal honor for me and I look forward to many more years of joint success.”
